Yasmin Ahmad (July 1, 1958 - July 25, 2009) was a critically-acclaimed multi-award winning film director, writer and scriptwriter from Malaysia and was also the executive creative director at Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur. Her television commercials and films are well-known in Malaysia for their humour, heart and love that crosses cross-cultural barriers, in particular her ads for Petronas, the national oil and gas company. Her works have won multiple awards both within Malaysia and internationally.
A graduate in arts majoring in politics and psychology from a British university, she worked as a trainee banker in 1982 for two weeks. After that she worked for IBM as a marketing representative while moonlighting as a blues singer and pianist by night. Yasmin began her career in advertising as a copywriter at Ogilvy & Mather. In 1993 she moved to Leo Burnett as joint creative director with Ali Mohammed and eventually rising to executive creative director at Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur.
Her first film was Rabun in 2002. Yasmin's films have won many international awards and praise from the critics and public alike. Most of her films have been screened at the Berlin, San Francisco, Singapore and Cannes (film market) international film festivals. Her films were featured in a special retrospective at the 19th Tokyo International Film Festival in October 2006. An April 2007 retrospective of her feature films was sponsored by the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, University of Hawaii, and the Honolulu Academy of Arts.

YASMIN AHMAD suffered a stroke and was admitted to hospital. She was pronounced dead at 11.25 p.m, 25th July 2009. - AL-FATIHAH
KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 ˇŞRenowned film and advertising director Yasmin Ahmad died here at about 11.25 pm last night.
Her death was confirmed by Media Prime Group Chief Operations Officer Datuk Seri Ahmad Farid Ridzuan, who was at the Damansara Specialist Hospital, when contacted by Bernama.
Yasmin, 51, collapsed while presenting a working paper at Sri Pentas, the headquarters of the private television station TV3 on Thursday and was rushed to the Damnsara Specialists Hospital.She was reported to have suffered a stroke and brain haemorrhage.-Bernama
Award-winning director Yasmin Ahmad, who passed away last night after a stroke, is finally laid to rest at 12.40pm at the Tanah Perkuburan Islam in SS20.
Among the pallbearers were Media Prima International CEO Datuk Seri Farid Ridzuan.
Some 100 people have turned at the funeral to pay their last respects.
Earlier, the family held solat jenazah at Masjid Abu Bakar As-Siddiq in SS19, after which, the public was allowed to pay their last respects to Yasmin.
The prayers were led by Imam Ustaz Ahmad Salim.
Yassin prayers were also recited for Yasmin at the mosque.
The hearse has left the house for the mosque at 9.30am.
Among those present at the mosque were actress Sharifah Amani, Farid, AirAsia group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes, singer Jacyln Victor, fellow film director and producer Suhaimi Baba, Talentime actor Hon Kahoe and singer cum songwriter Peter Teo.

walaupun kalah dengan barca tapi we still the champions kot :) hahaha frust betul ngan formation fergie utk final uefa league but its a fair game walaupun barca kemain drama lagi. haih.

azam muharram - deal with the habit of procrastinating
Happy new year 1430 hijrah!!!
waktu terus berlalu.. tanpa kusedari yg hanya ada aku dan kenangan... wah wah wah gitu kan bila aku mula bermadah helah gitu *wink pejam celik dah sampai hujung tahun 2008. dah dlm tahun 2008 byk dugaan dan cabaran hidup yg diuji oleh yg maha ESA utk aku menempuhi hidup yg bakal ditempuh pada 2009 dgn rasa rendah diri dan semakin tabah serta kebal eh kebal kew? tapi dlm kebal mengawal perasaan aku masih lagi tewas lagi dengan sikap manusia, tewas lagi dengan perasaaan benci dan tewas lagi bila membabitkan soal perasaan.. haih kun faya kun wah wah betul pe? ok ok cut it short, apa azam tahun baru aku? aku penah dengo suatu masa dulu dr incik nazril idrus heh beliau setiap tahun akan listkan hal2 yg beliau mo achieve dan yakin dgn apa yg kita hajat maka insyallah hajat kesungguhan itu akan termakbul.. miracle isnt it? miracle happens once *wink

kenapa 9 bukan 10? 10 will be... having discipline. how to get more discipline? have to be more motivated. and to be more motivated, i'll have to REALLY know what my plans are. i wonder what they are... apparently, I am just going with the flow; of "hanyut"...
ah, THIS is the root of it - i don't really know what i want!... shooting, but don't even know WHY and AT WHAT okay, have to deal with these first. and only then can there be any azam muharam...

semlm ngan ini hari aku dpt mc. doc suh aku berehat, aku kene gastrik la pulak. hari isnin lepas aku pas lunch memuntah plus perut aku jadi mcm kene pulas gitu. dua tiga kali aku ulang alik toilet memuntah, si roy kata haa baik ko wat pregnancy test kot ko pregnent ke hahaha bodo sial mamat tu.. dah la nama kenot go roy ceaser hashimee glamer kot nama dia bapak dia taruk hahaha canggih gilo. td aku bangun lambat. pehtu tgk jam dah kul 5 ptg. terer tak aku tido tak hengat ni hahaha. urm pehtu sesiap mandi, aku tepon bomot, bomot demam katanya. tu pun dia mo gi kerja lagi haih sian nye. pas mandi sesiap aku menuju ke curve. makan ayam penyek. pas makan ayam penyek mo carik hadiah utk mak. 12-Dec ni bday mak. so aku cadang beli kasut. skali dpt gak kasut utk mak. aku beli kat primavera. pastu mcm malas la mo balik pasal awal lagi so aku pi tgk ada muvi citer pe. aku dr dulu lagi mo nengok citer twilight so aku pun layan la citer twilight sorang2 kul 9.45pm. best la citer twilight ni, pasni bole follow series novel author twilight ni.. kalau diikut kan bella sama edward dorang akan kawen dan ada anak.. uwaa mesti baca ni!!! check their site: http://www.twilightthemovie.com    .edward cullen. yela aku kan dr dulu minat vampire. so mmg aku tak ketinggalan la menuntun citer gini. sebut pasal vampire teringat sorang dak opis ni haha dia bukan kemain claim diri dia president vampire malaysia hahaha aku mampu tersenyum urm budak tu baru mo happening2.. bg aku ngan bebudak dulu zaman 2000 lagi kitorg dah ada group vampire sendiri.. sebelum ada lagi cerita dlm tv tu citer apa ntah aku pun lupa yg pasal mistik2 ni haha.. teringat citer twilight kisah vampire jatuh cinta ngan manusia biasa yg best jln crita dia tak berat sgt yelah based on novel... urmm takde pe yg buat.. esk off day pulak tu kira minggu ni aku keje 2 hari je kot pehtu ahad balik raya sampai selasa... best nyeeeeee...

kala aku celik mata pagi tadi, aku check hp aku apahal tak bunyik alarm. rupanya masih awal lagi huhu aku masuk keje kul 945am tapi mata aku tercelik kul 730am so aku paksa tido balik tapi kenot go. so bebaring guling guling mcm tegiling jap tetiba hp aku bunyik incoming sms, aku dpt sms dr one of my great close friend si sue, dlm sms tu bgtau oit watpe? kalau takde pape ko dtg umah aku kat kd 29hb ni tau aku wat bertunang ada makan2 sket.. perghhh terbeliak aku baca sms tu.. memula si nana pehtu badak pehtu now sue? omg!!! semua close friend aku sudah mo tunang or dah kawen tapi aku? haha damn terasa diri tua plus mcm apa ntah hahaha tapi aku terima as positif la yela dlm keadaan aku gini kan so aku tak expect pun aku akan kawen or tunang dlm masa terdekat kot. tapi yg nyata aku sunggo happy dan terharu la bila tau sue dah mo tunang yelah kitorg dah kenal dlm 8 tahun gitu dan aku penah susah senang nangis happy sesama beliau. last2 dia mo tunang ngan bf dia yg dah kenal 10 tahun tapi baru je kapel dlm 3 bulan gitu. mamat tu dak satu mrsm ngan dia dulu huhu takpe la sue, asalkan ko hepi and aku tau ko wat keputusan yg tepat this time bebeh. and i mish u so much and rindu waktu kita sesama dedulu. one guess what 27hb ni genap setahun aku pakai zenky yehaaaa happy birthday zenky rasa mcm kejap je kan and this year rasa mcm cepat bebeno masa berlalu.. and aku pun dah lama tak update blog ni.. aritu aku ada jumpe ayahter, he was plan mo angkat bm hehe aku sapot je and i believe dia kalo mo sumthing mesti bleh dpt punye. u can do it ter.. i knw u can! ok la aku ni mealbreak je. nenanti aku sambung balik. rindu nye mo menype lagi ngeeee muahssss i love u blog i love my job, i love u who ever u are... *muahs!

tewas lagi dengan sikap manusia tewas lagi dengan perasaaan benci tewas lagi bila membabitkan soal perasaan.. aneh sekali sifat perasaan, entah bagaimana dicipta, entah di mana disimpan. tidak boleh dipegang, tapi ia ada, tidak berbentuk tajam, tetapi amat menikam.

tolong abaikan puasa ummat Muhammad, apabila sebelum memasuki bulan
Ramadhan dia tidak melakukan hal-hal yang berikut":- * tidak memohon maaf
terlebih dahulu kepada kedua orang tuanya (jika masih ada); * tidak
berma'afan terlebih dahulu antara suami isteri; * tidak bermaafan
terlebih dahulu dengan orang-orang sekitarnya. maka Rasulullah pun
mengatakan Amiin sebanyak 3 kali. dapatkah kita bayangkan, yang berdoa
adalah Malaikat dan yang mengamiinkan adalah Rasullullah dan para
sahabat, dan dilakukan pada hari Jumaat. .si wonder woman yg tomot.
